Important changes to the default state*/country privacy setting on ResearcherID

We would like to inform you of a forthcoming change to the default privacy setting for state* and country data in ResearcherID. The privacy setting for these values will now be associated with your primary institution name which is public by default.

The reason for this change is to enable us to implement a new feature which will allow members and users of ResearcherID to search by country data and thereby increase their collaborative opportunities.

Privacy settings that you have selected for other data will remain unchanged

You can rest assured that the privacy settings you have selected for other data will remain unchanged, and only data that you have chosen to make public on the website will be made available on your public profile and in search results.

What action do you need to take?

If you would like your primary institution name, state* and country information to remain private, please email us at http://science.thomsonreuters.com/custserv/other-req/index.html no later than 01/31/2010.

Please note: if you have previously changed the setting for your primary institution name to private, the values for primary institution state* and country will be private as well.

The next release of ResearcherID is scheduled for late February 2010. At that time, you can update the privacy setting for state*, country, and any other privacy setting by logging into your ResearcherID.com account and accessing the ‘Manage Profile’ area.

Thank you for your continued collaboration in the ResearcherID community. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at http://science.thomsonreuters.com/custserv/other-req/index.html.

Regards,

The ResearcherID team
